A Gift From Vermont Cemetery Preserve — Monday, August 18, 2025

I opened my email to THIS!!! —
“Hi Linda. Hope all is well.
Went for a walk this evening at the Vermont Cemetery Preserve this evening and was able to capture this:

The cemetery is inside that fence. It dates back to the 1840s and the first settlers to this area. It is surrounded now by indigenous grasslands and walking paths, further surrounded now by housing developments.
The story of this might be interesting to some:
The original settlers thought the soil must not be fertile, since there were few/no trees. Little did they realize they were walking on some of the most fertile black dirt in the world.
Lots of interesting history here, if one digs for it.”
WOW!!! A beautiful rainbow, a cemetery, and history!!! PERFECT!!!
Thank you so much. I loved getting this email!
